IABA – International Association of Black Actuaries Scholarship

International Association of Black Actuaries Scholarship provides scholarships at the undergraduate and graduate level to qualified black students who are interested in pursuing an actuarial career. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of individual merit. The amount of the award typically ranges from $1,500 - $5,000/year and is based on full-time status during the upcoming school year.

Spencer Educational Foundation – Undergraduate Scholarships

2024 Application Opens: October 1, 2023; 2024 Application Deadline: January 31, 2024 Undergraduate Spencer scholarships are awarded in the amount of $5,000, with limited $7,500 and $10,000 scholarships awarded to the highest-ranked applicants. Spencer awards scholarships to undergraduate students who meet the following criteria: Must seek a career in Risk Management/Insurance. Must be enrolled at an accredited college/university in the United States or Canada for the full 2024-25 academic year (at least 2 semesters, from September 2024-May 2025). Relevant work/internship experience and leadership skills preferred. Must be majoring/minoring in Risk Management/Insurance or a related field of study (e.g., actuarial science, business, finance, information technology). A Risk Management/Insurance major/minor is preferred, but applicants in related fields of study will be considered.   DEADLINE: 1.31.24

Spencer Educational Foundation – AF Group Scholarships
 

The Spencer Educational Foundation has partnered with AF Group to create two new merit-based diversity scholarships and one new course development grant which will be awarded to a Minority Serving Institution (MSI). Both scholarships and the course development grant will be awarded this year. 2024 URMIA Conference Student Scholarship
University Risk Management & Insurance Association (URMIA)

 

• Enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited institution and have earned 60 credit hours (or equivalent) by June 2024. Undergraduate, graduate, and community college students are welcome to apply.

• Majoring in risk management or a related field (e.g., business, insurance, finance)

• Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher

• Be at least 21 years old before arrival at the conference

• Is not an immediate family member of current URMIA board officers and members, URMIA staff, or URMIA members involved in the selection process
